PROCESS WORK

In this week, I moved on with taking photos to use for the poster. I used the natural sunlight in front of my house as the lighting to take my photos. It took me a bunch of tries to get the angle that I wanted and  also tried with different clothing to find the best match for the poster.

But in the end, I was able to pick the right photos that I wanted to proceed with.

Then, I moved on with placing the bigger portrait into photoshop and removing the background of the image using the refine tool to make sure the hair strands are masked too.

After that, I found a kintsugi gold lines image online that I liked and removed the background of the image through the erasing background tool by selecting the colours of the lines and the background colour.

Then, I moved on with erasing the the areas that is not on my face using the eraser with 0% hardness to ensure that the lines blend in the picture.

I thought that the lines were too little and it wasn't visually appealing to me. So I decided to redo the process and this time, warped the images to fit my face. Besides that, I also liquified some parts of the lines like the ones on my nose and jaw to make the lines that look convincing. Then, I added shadows to the lines so that it looks more convincing. I also changed the levels of the lines to match my face.

Then, I moved on to cutting the a part of my head to place the flowers later on.

After that, I moved on with masking the full body picture along with the picture of a watering can I found online.

FEEDBACK

Teacher said the sketch was okay and suggested that I find a suitable kintsugi lines to and mask it to the face.

REFLECTION

This week, I moved on to taking pictures and digitising the poster. It was quite a fun process and interesting how previous tasks techniques could be applied in the making of the poster. I've also find out new techniques to remove the background and warping the image that I found through reels and youtube videos that helped me a lot in digitisation. Thus, I realised that there were still much to learn and explore in using Photoshop and I will stay open to new experiences and tips that could help me in the future.
